Phil-Arts is a space
for exploring the intersection between philosophy and the
arts. It is meant to encourage the
exploration of philosophical ideas beyond the confines of the
academic essay. Doing philosophy through painting, infographicc, comics, diagrams,
poetry, fiction,
nonacademic writing, film, music, dance, comedy,
performance, and other creative media offers opportunities and
present and ponder ideas in new ways. Such outlets can interrogate ideas in new ways and
reach wider audiences. Philosophy is not a
medium; it can find many forms of expression.
This website is still in
development. It is a place to share work created
by members of the Phil-Arts group at
the City
University of New York, Graduate Center,
and beyond.
We would
like to see such groups emerge everywhere
that philosophy is studied
and outside the academy. To share content
or suggest addictions,
